CEA was born in Monghidoro, in the province of Bologna, as srl in 1982, and became cooperative two years later, in 1984; It is therefore a more unique than rare case of a company’s private wealth made available for the birth and growth of a cooperative society.
CEA operates through a coded value system capable of generating value in turn, and which can be summarized as follows:
- CEA workers must constantly elevate their professionalism;
- CEA guarantees all workers equal career opportunities while respecting their dignity and privacy;
- companies and workers must carry out their duties in the interests of the communities in the territories in which they are called to operate;
- no one, from the top manager to the last hire, must bend basic social values such as honesty, justice, solidarity and respect for the environment to the logic imposed by mere profit.
Since 2008 CEA has had a Code of Ethics, shared by all suppliers and subcontractors, as well as internal staff; This code guides and guarantees the rules described above and every decision-making process of the Board of Directors is subject to it.
In addition, to make even more clear and tangible the commitment to workers in all parts of the world in which the Cooperative is called to operate, CEA has implemented the necessary path to certify ethical enterprise according to the SA8000 standard and has now finally the Ethicjobs Certificate of Work Ethics Excellence.
